Somewhere to dry the shop towels after a wash.

Living in a dry climate you might get away with that.  Being stuck in Florida with high humidity, that would just trap moisture.  On this beautiful December morning the humidity here is only 92%.

Here in Arizona, as soon as you were finished hanging the towels, you could start taking them down. The last time I went to Florida, I hung my beach towel on the balcony to dry, a week later it was still wet.
