75_M20F Posted December 10, 2015 Report Posted December 10, 2015 http://flightaware.com/live/aircrafttype/M20P This is kind of cool. Shows you where all the Mooney's are currently flying IFR or with VFR flight following. http://flightaware.com/live/aircrafttype/M20T Quote

amillet Posted December 11, 2015 Report Posted December 11, 2015 Use M20* and you'll get all M20's, not just turbos. Quote
Raptor05121 Posted December 11, 2015 Report Posted December 11, 2015 Aren't M20P's all the non-turbos? Using M20*, I see one fella flying as "M20C" Quote
tony Posted December 11, 2015 Report Posted December 11, 2015 M20P is the correct designation. I think the P stands for Piston and the T stands for Turbo Quote
75_M20F Posted December 11, 2015 Author Report Posted December 11, 2015 http://flightaware.com/live/aircrafttype/M20 This seems to work as well..... Yes, I'm a Mooney nerd for sure. Quote
Hank Posted December 11, 2015 Report Posted December 11, 2015 I believe the correct word is "Mooniac," and it fits many of us here . . . . 1 Quote

But I filed IFR to show up on Marauder's hit list. Flew down to the avionics shop to get the 750 and GDL 88 updated to the latest software revs. (I burned 13 gallons to be able to enter NAV/COM freqs without typing the leading "1s" or trailing "0s". Oh what a relief it is! Now I just have to figure out how to change the ownship icon back to what it was. I'm not happy to be represented as a tri-pacer.) Quote

Expand Bob, how do you know when to update software in the 750 and 88? Thanks. Quote
Bob - S50 Posted December 12, 2015 Report Posted December 12, 2015 There is supposed to be another update for the GTN series coming out in January. Originally is was coming out in November but they found a bug or two. The new version will let you build a holding pattern in space. That is, you'll be able to build a holding pattern at any fix, not just have holding patterns that are part of an approach. Learned that from a guy named Trek on the Beechtalk forum (he works for Garmin). 1 Quote
