CALLING PETER GARMIN! PETER GARMIN ARE YOU THERE?

From now on, I am Marauder Garmin and you are no longer Peter Garmin. You just don't own enough Garmin stuff to qualify anymore...

BTW -- spend the extra $800 on the 16W version. There is no doubt who is calling...

I hate that you had to spend the extra dough, but the new radio looks more at home in your panel than the old narco.

That's it!

The Narco is a piece of art. It will look appropriate sitting on a shelf, collecting dust in the back of a hangar...

For the record....

I mailed my Narco back to the factory for a decent burial. Unfortunately, the factory closed their doors with my radio still inside. No peace for either the radio or the company. It's been a while.

Chris, good luck with the new box.

Best regards,

And from now on, Moneybags, we will call you "MG" for short. (Pun intended, of course!)

Personally when I first saw your excellent well equipped panel MG I thought how did this guy ever get into the CB club and why hasn't his membership been revoked

He used to be very poor, but then he started pimping out his girlfriends.

I'm guessing he got in for flying his old no-GPS panel for so long . . .

Bingo! Aside of the $11,000 I spent in 1998 to install the STEC-60 (which I had 6 years building the avionics reserve for), the avionics reserve had been building. I told the wife early on that just like my women, the Mooney will need care and a lot of feeding. But unlike my women, the feeding part may happen in a few years, not a few minutes.

I did have 14 years of building the avionics reserve to plan for the upgrade. I do wish the Narco hung in there. It was a great radio and to be honest, I was getting better transmission quality than the GTN.

One other comment on the GTN, for you guys running 5.0 or older main software, the 5.13 version is pretty cool. It now uses the database to show the station you have tuned and also drops the need to enter the "1" as you are entering the frequency.

May I ask all of you for a moment of silent meditation and reflection?

She was a good radio, never complaining, always there waiting for a chance to please. Unlike her modern day counterparts, she was simple, just a little bit of power and she was happy.

In her lifetime she saw many things and experienced many firsts. She was there for my first ILS to mins and my son's first ride. She was a good radio and will be sorely missed...

Hopefully not a sign as I have the exact Narco as my NavCom 1 and it works beautifully

Say 3 Hail Mary's and sprinkle holy water over your shoulder. You'll be fine.
