Do it yourself. Start a thread with two polls, each listing all of the MSCs. One for good experiences and one for bad. Done.

Jim

Just looked at it and did not know that we could do that.  I will work on it later after my work assignment.

Ideas for the poll questions?

Quality of work?

timely service?

cost in line with expectations?

warrantee on their work?

The obvious problem with any rating system is the tolerance of what is acceptable. I hear stories of guys going to a MSC and walking out with a bill for twice as much as I would have paid and they think they were getting a great deal.

And as Bob points, there will be a bias based on personal opinion. Hopefully the "new" Mooney will implement a MSC accreditation program that takes into consideration factors like track record of issues with the FAA, experience of the mechanics, available parts supply, customer complaint tracking and periodic inspections to make sure the shop lives up to the brand. That is what I would do if I owned Mooney.

Caution: few, if any, ratings are without bias and most are not based on a statistically significant sample. I rather trust what a couple of folks I trust say in PMs than what the majority of the unwashed masses opine in a public forum.

Hey! I bathe semi-regularly, and my mass isn't THAT large!

These are great points and I can't agree with you more Marauder. Without the integrity it only hurts Mooney and the owners.
