Bob & Bill,

I'm not (yet) on the SE mailing list, but am quite interested in coming, and saddened that I have to miss the Summit. I'll reserve a spot at Lil Switzerland just in case, but may stay nearby with Mom & Dad. No, I won't comment on which is Plan B, but it's nice to have backup.

Looking forward to meeting more of my MS friends. Gatlinburg Saturday was a long time ago . . .

What is the hammer fest noted at the bottom of the page?

My daughter asked hammer... As in tool or hammer as in funky parachute pants man...can't touch this?

Best regards,

If you make it from Houston we may have to come up with a longest flight prize!

Well its only 4.5 hours to Morristown, Tn, with some sight seeing, cant be much further than that. Should be a fun day.

No, not a lot further than East Tennessee. Hope you can make it.

I carry a couple of copies of the poster in my brief case.  I am planning an approach training trip today: HKY, RFD (for lunch), MRN, HKY.  I will put up posters at Hickory and Rutherfordton if they are not already up.

Bob, thanks for organizing this November 15 Mooney fly-in at Morganton-Lenoir Airport.

See you next weekend! I'll fly over from 33A in the morning, should be a quick flight.

Anything for non-rated spouses, or should she enjoy the day with my parents while I'm off getting educated and talking planes?

Hank, glad to hear you're coming. We'll work on something for the ladies. I'll consult with Nancy, a non pilot, who had a great time accompanying me to Mooney Summit a couple of weeks ago.

My girlfriend just expressed the same concern. She wants to get her Private, but she isn't a total Mooney geek yet.

I just checked, it's 47nm from Landrum International, course 032. Will fly there after work Friday for a late meal with Mom & Dad. Will return there for dinner Sat unless the wife comes to Morganton with me. Either way, will have a nice visit with them on Sunday.

That makes this a 2-fer!!

I just sent a note to our committee. We'll have something put together and I will communicate it here. If we have several folks staying Sat nite I have a copy of "Boots on the Ground".

Just 379 miles east from me...Looks like a great reason to fly. If we have good weather I'll be in. The airport and hotel look great. Guys with spouses bring them along. Mine likes to look at planes, but after a while she needs a break from airplane talk...lol

I would say I'm 90% a go on this.

Seriously, I know I am going to be asked (We've never been to one of these)

How are we supposed to dress? Are good jeans and a nice shirt ok?

Yes, plus sweaters, wind breakers, Mooney caps and rain gear...just in case.

Wish I could be there!

I'll be in a chamois shirt and flight jacket. Outside of work, I wear jeans when it's too cold for shorts. Do they need to be "good" jeans, or just good enough that the wife won't fuss?

This is redneck country. There is no dress code. (Of course I can say that w/o fear because I know that Marauder has a better offer and isn't coming with his friend stinky pants.)
