Here is the link to last years event: http://flylcpa.com/aviationdayfmy/

Aviation Day is a free, annual community event organized by the Lee County Port Authority aimed at educating the residents of Southwest Florida about the social and economic benefit to the region by aviation. Aviation Day will be held at Page Field in Fort Myers on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is held on the north ramp off N. Airport Road.

This year, visitors will be able to view a North American P-51D Mustang that began its service in 1945 at Page Field. The second featured aircraft - new to Aviation Day - is a Douglas DC-7B in Eastern Airlines livery. This four-engine, completely restored aircraft was delivered to Eastern in 1958 and was one of the last piston-engine commercial planes built before the advent of the jet age.

Other attractions will include experimental, antique and military plane exhibits, plane rides, WGCU "Untold Stories" of aviation history in Southwest Florida, children's activities and character appearances, demonstrations by airport police and fire departments, refreshments and more.

Though admission is free, we are asking those coming to the event to help our local community by bringing a non-perishable food item. All donations will benefit The Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida whose mission is to overcome hunger in our communities through education and by working in a cooperative effort with affiliated agencies in the procurement and distribution of food, equitably and without discrimination.

Hi Todd.

If you don't make it to Florida for these events, maybe fly up to Lake in the Sky, South Lake Tahoe and help us with the Ambassador display there, August 24-26th.

Either way, have a great flight in your Mooney.

Okay folks, if you are coming to Page, I need to know your name and tail number so I can get it to Peter.  The LoPresti event is not space limited and is only a few hours in the morning. Email to MooneyAmbassadors@charter.net

Thank you

I may be at Page field for this great Florida event, and while is will be good to see the Mooney Ambassador flag flying, there is no way I'll could be there by 0830. I suggest this thread would be better served in the Florida section.

If Nick can make just a couple of days after getting back from Afghanistan, there's no way I'll miss it!

I think we do have a thread in the Florida section.  I will ask Peter if there is wiggle room on the 8:30.  The more the merrier!

Peter is checking with the event administration.  Doesn't see a big problem because event starts at 10:00 a.m.  Will post more as I have it.

My partner and I took part in the event yesterday as well as Nick "201-Flyer". Peter Wei and his wife Cathy marshaled us to our spot where were parked next to Nick and his "K". There was also an Ovation parked on the ramp which was owned by a local who was nice enough to participate.

Unfortunately Fantom couldn't make it but we managed to have a good time anyway. The public turnout for the event was greater than I would have expected and the static display was excellent, containing a very wide range of flying machines including a C-47, UH-1 "Huey", Citation and various home builts to name but a few.

This was a worthwhile event and I plan to attend next years.
