It's just a flat sheet of aluminum... Easy to cut and drill to match the airbox opening and rivet in place. You don't need an official Mooney part.

Thanks Scott.  It looked fairly easy but wasn't sure if you are allowed to fabricate it by yourself.

Mooney SB20-93 has the full instructions and some basic drawings.    The cover is very simple.    The airbox or the removed flap assembly can be used to make a template if needed.

You also need to plug the hole in the cowl which can just be fiberglassed over.     It's a bit of work, but not too bad.

Edit:   It's a Service Instruction, not a Service Bulletin, so SI M20-93.

here’s the interpretation of the SB. Remove flapper. Cut aluminum in a circle. Rivet said circle onto AirBox. Case closed (pun intended).

I just riveted an aluminum plate (spray painted white) on the back of the cowling hole until I had time to get the cowling glassed and painted later.

Remove the control cable, sometimes they are used as points to secure wiring, so check before you pull it. Plug hole in firewall.
