BlueSky247 Posted June 29 Report Posted June 29 Bumping this thread to mention that the flightaware link Lance shared earlier is now showing a few flights on their J this month. I wonder if they are trying to make a milestone happen before Osh. I'll go ahead and stick a screen grab here for posterity. Quote

BlueSky247 Posted June 29 Report Posted June 29 Short flights I imagine just to get airborne enough to test variations in settings. Quote
231MJ Posted July 1 Author Report Posted July 1 Thanks for the update, Blue Sky. I'm relieved to see the work is continuing. My hangar neighbor said there was an issue with a Bonanza servo and I was afraid all their engineer/development resources would shift to the Bo but that may not be the case. An announcement at Oshkosh would be a big deal for Dynon and also for those of us flying behind Dynon. Hope it happens. 1 Quote
cliffy Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 They still have to turn in all the paperwork and wait for FAA approval process to commence Quote

Once the Dynon AP idps approved for Mooney, I'm getting in line for SkyView and AP installation! My fingers have been crossed for a couple of years now . . . . 1 Quote

Probably Avidyne, not rewiring for G650. Options are rather limited. Quote
Matthew P Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 Figures, I was waiting for Dynon AP for mooney, could never get a straight answer from Dynon, so went Garmin, I'm sure I'll like it but was really impressed with dynon and the price. Quote

Will.iam Posted July 24 Report Posted July 24 Anybody at OshKosh hear anything from dynon on their mooney autopilot certification progress. Was really hoping they had some news to release at OshKosh but i guess by the lack of any posts that’s a no. Quote

231MJ Posted July 27 Author Report Posted July 27 I heard from someone that was at Oshkosh and talked to a Dynon rep that the documentation has been submitted to the FAA and now waiting approval. I'm not sure if that means a signature and all is good to go or if a signature leads to the next step. In any case, I'm hanging in there... Quote

Like what have you been doing this past year from the last time i was here asking this question. I’m sure something has been done like an email sent or a phone call to check on the status ? anyway thanks for asking. At least they know one person is interested in when the AP will be approved/ available. Quote
dominikos Posted July 29 Report Posted July 29 At least they were showing a Mooney panel for J/K. And said that all engineering work was completed. there is more than 1 person on their waiting list. I asked myself to be added as well. 1 Quote
BlueSky247 Posted July 29 Report Posted July 29 One of my main goals for Osh this year was to spend quality time seeing the different panel upgrade options in person, with my own naked eyeballs. Youtube and the interwebz is great for learning about things, but not for getting a real feel for how something might be to live with. I'm sure it might be bias - but I felt like the Dynon panels seemed more vibrant and easier to read than the other options. Quote

Will.iam Posted August 4 Report Posted August 4 Well here is to another year for the AP approval wait. just spit balling here, but couldn’t i get the dynon system and just move my hsi and vacuum ADI to the co-pilot side to keep using my KFC-150 autopilot? I know changing heading would require me to reach over to change the heading bug but small sacrifice to keep a working autopilot. The benefit would be once the AP was approved I’m only down for that and not the whole system (which once this AP is approved i think will backlog alot of avionics shops for some time) and i would know the system was already working before the ap add in. Also i could benefit from the better situational awareness including AOA better comm panel function now as well as better engine monitoring graphically as i have only a jpi-711 now and do not have MP, oil, rpm recording like i would with the dynon. what is the problem or pitfalls with going this way that i don’t know about? I don't know of anything that would keep you from doing that. I kept my Century III after my avionics upgrade. Quote
LANCECASPER Posted August 4 Report Posted August 4 It looks like Dynon is out flying their J model after Oshkosh: https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/N4532H/history/20240802/1540Z/KPAE/KPAE 1 Quote
