carusoam Posted June 11, 2022 Report Posted June 11, 2022 That color looks familiar… the LVL button..? https://www.garmin.com/en-US/blog/aviation/blue-button-helping-keep-blue-side/ -a-
bmcconnaha Posted June 11, 2022 Report Posted June 11, 2022 lots of time behind both. I like the ability to add alerts and such to the EIS. The JPI is a fine product also. if i wasnt cutting a panel, id stick with a round instrument.

He is asking about the little blue thing sticking out on the left side of the EDM. As someone previously stated it looks like a piece of packaging from the install or some such.
ArtVandelay Posted June 16, 2022 Report Posted June 16, 2022 It’s a piece of painters tape that held the protective clear plastic it’s ship with.

FlyingDude Posted June 17, 2022 Report Posted June 17, 2022 OCD is 3 letters, so I have the jpi700, g5 AND windshield OAT probes. All in C (well, the windshield probe has both)... And they all disagree... Windshield and G5 probes are pretty close to one another (in readout, not locationwise). Jpi probe is on the lateral air scoop and I'm starting to think that it's not adding any value...

Really needs to be in undisturbed air. But installers love using the naca scoop because it’s couldn’t be easier to install there.
LANCECASPER Posted June 17, 2022 Report Posted June 17, 2022 Knowing that Garmin is selling a lot of their EIS, it wouldn't surprise me to see JPI certify their experimental EDM-350. https://www.jpinstruments.com/shop/edm-350/ 1

True, for those of us with 1 exhaust, you’ll want to install it on the opposite side. Mine runs ~3° hot.
