peevee Posted January 29, 2017 Report Posted January 29, 2017 anyone have a source for a new L/R/OFF placard for a J/k? Ours is shot, no paint left. I looked at higher graphics and moody aero, but they seem to only sell full kits and I just need the one, plus pour metal backing is bent up so I'd kind of like a factory style I guess? Quote

Many small sign shops can produce metallize placards and decals, you may have to bring them the old one as a sample to copy. Clarence Quote

Clarence There's nothing left to copy I'm afraid. It's basically gone. No paint Quote

Get ahold of Brian Kendrick...830-370-1190. He ordered one for me when I had my fuel talks legally placarded to 102USG a couple of years ago. Mine was actually a plastic ring engraved with the information required in the POH. I believe he got it from the factory for $49. Regards, Steve Quote
peevee Posted January 30, 2017 Author Report Posted January 30, 2017 Here's what I got. At an angle it's a little more visible. In the day light it's totally washed out. Ill give that guy a call, thanks Quote

Piloto Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) I did my own placards just using Word and my laser printer. See the Word file with the labels. Edit the placard to your preferences. For the fuel selector placard I printed the placard on heavy paper and then sandwich it into self-adhesive laminating sheets. Trimmed and cut the center hole. I glued the new placard on top of the old one. Looks better than new Mooneys. Labels.doc Edited February 1, 2017 by Piloto 2 Quote

Peevee, I bought one of those kits from Higher Graphics last year and have no plans to use the fuel selector decal. If you PM me your address I'll send you what you need. Can't help you with the metal though, it's just a vinyl sticker. Let me know if you're interested. Steve Quote
Oscar Avalle Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 You may want to contact aerographics. They produce placards and when I called them they agreed to produce placards only for my fuel selector valve. http://www.aerographics.com/interior.php?document_view=Mooney_M20_Series_Interior_AeroGraphics_Placards Quote

I'll bet that a bunch of plane owners would like to replace theirs. Quote

Did you change or placard them for extended range tanks? Quote

But from the mid scale up there is more fuel in the tank than indicated. No problem with me. At full fuel I know I have over 10hrs endurance. With your computer and printer you can make a variety of placards using sticky paper from Office Depot. I made these for some of my passengers using the PT-2430 label printer. The label material is super durable. I also used for the fuel caps placards and other outside locations. José Edited February 1, 2017 by Piloto Quote

jetdriven Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 Moody can make any placard and sell you just that. They are kind of old school, just call them. Quote
mooniac15u Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 Someone posted a link to this company in the discussion on rocker switches but they also seem to do custom placards. http://www.engravers.net/placards-c.html Quote
