Mooney flying for Christmas or New Years

Wishing you all the happy spirit of Christmas, or Hanukkah, or other religion of your choice.  Wish you a Happy New Year coming fast [fast like a Mooney!] too. 


We will be traveling to Sutter Creek over the holidays.  Also to the Anaheim area for a New Years celebration.


Anyone else have plans for Mooney traveling during these times?

Unfortunately nothing right now, other than giving some IFR instruction in my student's M20J.  But it could involve test flying a couple planes.


 


Looking at M20K, M20R, M20S, A36, and 8GC/KC right about now.


Needless to say, most of it is a debate between the following:


IO-550, TSIO-360, AEIO-360

Parker,


Go IO-550G until the time you can go TSIO-550...


M20R vs. M20TN.......(go big, until you can go bigger.....)


M20R = 20gph on take-off, <16gph ROP, somewhere near 11gph LOP.

Send picture, that's a trip I would like to take (Rgaines has some nice photos (carribean and bahamas)  in his album - rip, RG).

No plans to fly on Christmas, but scheduled to do an Angel Flight on the 28th if the weather holds out.

Parker....my two cents is a TSIO-360, as in a real Encore, not some old K with an Encore conversion. Current prices a compelling for buyers, not so much for sellers.

Like a frozen duck tired of winter,south to paso robles ,a couple days in Vegas for a concert gigg,Mulege/Alamos mexico for new years.....happy holidays everyone!!!!....kpc

This seems to be our MO for this time of year as we a doing exactly the same thing, with a couple of exceptions.  We're also headed to the Rose Bowl on Jan. 2 [Go DUCKS!] and flying with new cylinders in Maggie!!

Just my usual annual trip around the world tonight.  Probably make about 3.4 billion stops.  Lots of short take off and landings, not to mention extreme IFR conditions.Wink

Come on you guys, this is a happy Christmas thread, not a 172 bashing contest!!  Even though they are simply a garden variety airplane at best!!!  Wink

A MERRY CHRISTMAS and a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 2012 to all my fellow Mooney alumni and to your families!


I'm planning a flight up to Mt. Tremblant (CYFJ) for skiing next week. Should be fun. They are supposed to get lots of snow this weekend into next week. Will be back home for New Year's.

Merry Christmas to all and happy new year.  I went flying today with the inst. working on my IR yeah about 6 hrs now.  Flying in the soup is different.
