I have an extra T handle in the trunk of my car.  When you get your "F" i'll send it to you as a MOONEY PRESENT.

And Bill, thanks again for making mine. Exactly what the doctor ordered!

The first time you run a tank dry with your shoulder harness on and go to reach the switch and UGH  (I can't reach it).  You'll wish you had the tool in the pocket by your left knee.

My pleasure Marauder..

I still think you guys need some Yoga or something. :) Played with mine during a night flight last night and I still don't get how it could not be easy although I do need to loosen my shoulder harness.

Hey, 10 years ago it was not an issue with my other M20E, but now, I'm just more comfortable with a little extra help... As far as yoga goes, I've always been about as flexible as a 2x4.

It's on the floor, below your right leg. If your waist or age is over 40 you may need a simple arm extension tool. I am both.

Some use a PVC pipe with a slot to fit over the selector arm. I use a piece of wood that is actually an end frame from my bee keeping equipment. (I velcro it to the top of nose well hub behind the JBar.

I added 3 pics of my tool to my gallery. Simple, light weight, cheap, handy...

I have a 77 J model with the fuel selector at your feet. I’m a shorter guy so I have the seat all the way forward, I don’t care how skinny you are your not reaching that valve. I have an extension as well but still like to slide back to get to it. I do have an iPad mounted on the yoke so that does make it more difficult for me. If you have the option to buy one with the selector where it should be I would recommend that. It’s not a total deal breaker because the Mooney is such an amazing airplane but what the heck were they thinking

Have you considered rudder peddle extensions?

I have a 77J also and have no problem reaching the fuel selector. But I'm 6' tall with long arms.

The fuel selector is where it is because that is where the fuel lines are. Putting it in the center complicates the plumbing.

And cooks it when you have the heat on during cold weather operations. To the point of finger-burning when you turn it.

So you need the PVC T-handle to turn the center mounted selector to keep from burning your fingers! :D

Just don't leave your headset on the glare shield or they will leave blisters on the side of your head when you put them on!
