PMcClure Posted March 25, 2013 Report Posted March 25, 2013 We went for the sling shot maneuver around the southwest side of a low. Settings was 75% power 22" 2400 100 ROP 16gph. I would have loved to go higher for another 30 knots but had my baby girl on board. But I'll take 254 knots any day! Quote
Hank Posted March 25, 2013 Report Posted March 25, 2013 Holy cow!! The most I've seen in my C is 183 knots in 500+ hours . . . But I've also seen 68 knots groundspeed in level cruise, indicating 133 mph at 10,000 msl. Quote

rorythedog Posted March 26, 2013 Report Posted March 26, 2013 We have no proof: Last week we flew 1008 statute miles in five hours flat, at max. gross weight. 11,500 ft. 9.5gph. Highest groundspeed in level flight was 224. What an amazing plane the 201 is! 1 Quote
moodychief Posted March 26, 2013 Report Posted March 26, 2013 Highest ground speed in my C model was 213 knots, 2400 rpms at 13,000 between Arkansas and Georgia a couple of years ago (can be verified on flightaware). Last Wednesday, 188 knots, 2500 rpms at 9,000 between Harrison and Saline Co. Arkansas (flightaware). Quote

aviatoreb Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 281GS - I think it was at 17k. Almost two years ago. How do I post a picture here in this window rather than my gallery? I have the picture to prove it. Still hoping for that special day to hit 300. Quote
RJBrown Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 After writing a post hit "More reply options" in bottom right corner and add a picture there. With a good tailwind you'll see 300 promise. Quote
