orionflt Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 Winter has trapped my airplane in it's hanger......the ground has heaved, in combination with the weight of snow and ice on the roof, causing the hanger doors to bind. hoping it warm up enough next week to get the plane move to another hanger. aviatoreb Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 I brought my airplane to annual just over a week ago. Winter happens every year, and so does my annual! I like to line them up. Right now I am hoping fabulous flying weather doesn't break out before I get my airplane back late next week. Quote

par Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 Even with snow and ice in font of the hangar and at the risk of landing flat on my face trying to pull the plane out, I managed to log 2 hours this past weekend. Its supposed to be nice this weekend so i'm looking forward to some more flight time. Quote

BigTex Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 So does experience allow for you to set longer on the bench before rust sets in? I personally, feel if I don't fly every other week, I got rust to deal with. What's everyone's threshold? Quote

Houman Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 Weather has been very cold up here in Canada ( near Montreal ), but amazingly I have been able to rack up 14.4 hours on the Rocket since January 1st. 3 tripps, NY, Boston and Pittsburgh and I have been really lucky that my flights have been in preety good weather for the most part, cold but clear... The only exception was my landing monday on a 18g28 cross wind... Working hard on my IFR written for march so that I can be IR for next winter... Quote
