Crash at Sebring

I was 2000 feet away when I heard this demo aircraft crash nose first in the grass. The amphib sales guy I was talking to said oh no and ran out as it was one of his. Not sure if the polot survived. All announcements and flights were suspended as ems rushed out.

just got an avweb update and unfortunately 2 people perished in the accident 200 yes from the exhibition site...aweful..

Sounds as if it was a demo ride maybe.  Sad any which way.

I feel like terrible. Home safe and getting ready to enjoy dinner with my wife. I was actually speaking with one of the sales people from the company as this airplane was flying. He ran out to help and I followed but was told to stay back. The sound of that crash is haunting me. I heard there was some sort of elevator trouble and that the airplane was banking heavily and pitching down.

Wow, was going to leave early this morning and fly in but something came up and had to cancel. RIP

This is what a friend of mine said about the accident. He was at Sebring demonstrating his aircraft.

The pilot of that Aventura slammed the tail down on a ground incident minutes before flight. Instead of getting and checking if there was any damage, he continued to the runway and took off.
