Panel and Paint

OK 52H I'll keep it going. My panel is pretty basic and old but every thing works no pics of the interior but every thing is fairly new and in light brown leather. the paint is also only a few years old and I think she looks real smart on the ramp. the big change is my new hangar it has lights, heat running water and a loft.  I have to share it with a 175 but the owner is deceased so it don't get out much.

Don't know they were that way when we bought the plane. They may be plastic and we're never painted I will be closing up the cowling today at LASAR think I will give them a close look. I'm kind of a "if it works don't fix it" type so I never paid it much mind.

Very nice 2000!  Problem with doing those kind of projects is the time that your Mooney is out of service. I suppose in some parts of the country when the winter shuts you down you can do the work then and not miss any good days for flying. But here in the looney state of CA the winter flying is even better than the summer and I hate it when my plane is not ready to fly. But I do have panel envy.

Brian did his while being in and out of the country...

Dedication to country, aviation and train modeling!

Brian, how's my memory today?

-a-

Very good grasshopper... :D

I did some while I was stationed in Saudi and another portion during a particularly bad winter in Kansas, so I didn't miss much.

I'm overseas for another year, but will finally return home and be stationed in Herlong, CA starting July 2015. I'll probably live in Reno and keep the plane at Reno-Stead airport.

There's a short story behind the "new" tail number as well. The plane is done in blue and gold because my better half graduated from Notre Dame in May 97, hence, N597ND..... I graduated from Embry-Riddle (aviation business major) in April 97, but all of the ER slots were pretty much taken, so figured it was better to keep the misses happy...it worked... ;)

I'm still not done with the panel.  It will probably get glass installed at some point...

Cheers,

Brian

I love the lighter colored panel. Between yours and Bob B's I'm really thinking about a color change!

I think that I posted these pictures (or similar pictures) of my panel and paint a year or so ago. In case I didn’t, here they are. The plane is in annual at Dugosh right now, and after annual I was considering replacing the KX-155 with a second 430W before Garmin quits producing them. My expenditures to date, however, exceed market value by such a wide margin that I ultimately figured a second 430 would add nothing to some future resale price. I therefore reconsidered the decision of another 430 and instead am in the process of having the 155 reconditioned with a new display module, faceplate and knobs (which also adds nothing to resale but only costs around 10 percent of an installed 430). PippenYork did the avionics and panel, AeroComfort did the interior and Tejas did the paint.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who went digital with their gauges!
