Used M20F overhauled Prop

Folks, is anyone aware of a used m20F prop and non AD hub for sale. I'm currently being held hostage by a prop shop that was told to do an overhaul for $2700 but wait for a call while I was deciding what to do with the AD hub. They did the overhaul and installed an overhauled B hub, bill is $6400+. They are charging $3000 for an overhauled hub which I understand can be bought for $1500. There are other misc charges $200 here, $200 there in addition to the overhaul and hub. I'd like to explore other options before agreeing to pay the bill.

The "B" Suffix hub new from Hartzell is $3400.... In the Propeller world, most anything that's not new, but yellow tagged we try an sale at%50 of new. $3k is high for a used hub.

Finding a good serviceable B hub on the open market is like finding Jimmy Hoffa. When one comes available, it's bought in a hurry. An now you have the guys with the RV-8 with the IO-360 converting over to the B hubs on the home builds, which makes then harder to find.

I can get ya a HC-C3YR-1RF or McCauley C424. Both are 3 blade propellers though, they are available.

Call Hartzell    They had used scimitars with less than 10 hours on them a couple of years ago for not much more.   Maybe they have more.

I would agree that for a few more bucks you should consider a Hartzell Top Prop (scimitar style). Quieter, no AD, ramp appeal, probably adds more that the difference to your resale value.
