Htwjr Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 I just got a '67 M20C and when I pull the fuel drain ring only a few drops come out. Is this normal? Quote
BigTex Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Nope... You should get a good flow. Is it the same for both tanks? Quote
N601RX Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 I have to pull pretty hard on mine. If mine is all the way up it gives a stream. If not all the way up is just drips a few drops. Assuming the fuel selector is on. Quote
Htwjr Posted June 18, 2013 Author Report Posted June 18, 2013 Yes, it is the same for both sides. I'll try pulling harder. Thanks Quote
BigTex Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 If after pulling it up to its stop still only produces a few drops, have your A&P check it out. You don't want to mess around with a faulty fuel selector. Quote
N601RX Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 I've also had a problem with mine dripping after pushing it back down. After taking it apart and getting the dried gunk off it seals fine now. Quote
carusoam Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Have you favorite mechanic take a look at it to see what has collected beneath the screen. Gunk or rust bits. Has it been stored. Outside? Best regards, -a- Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 The screen and drain should be inspected every annual. Maybe they missed it the last few years. Quote
Mooneymite Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 As I recall, there is a small O-ring on the end of the plunger. I would be suspicious that the O-ring is bad. It is not sealing when released and it is obstructing flow when pulled. Good news: simple, simple, simple to replace. The toughest part is like so many Mooney repairs....getting access. Quote
FloridaMan Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 Not normal and don't F around with fuel issues. Get it fixed yesterday. Quote
