Several times when selecting a soft key on my MFD I have bumped the autopilot switch which disconnects it. I have moved my switch guard from the Emergency Bus over to the Autopilot switch and haven't had this happen since.

So I need another one for my Emergency Bus. Mooney doesn't have any in stock and this item is only on G1000 Ovations and Acclaims so the salvage yards don't have one, so I would like to see if I can get one 3D printed.

I'm guessing there are companies that do this if I sent them the dimensions. Any ideas?

My S has a plastic cover over the High boost pump.    Like this one on Digikey   https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/honeywell-sensing-and-productivity-solutions/AML76C10T01P/1248795

The dust cover might also do what you need.    https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/nkk-switches/AT4126/379098

I just searched "digikey rocker switch guard"

Or you could buy me the Vevor cnc router I can make you one.     I would probably just make one out of Oak and varnish it just to be different.

That looks pretty simple to make out of a flat piece of plastic.  Most cities have a plastics store to buy the raw materials.  Most can probably make it for you if you take them the part.

Remembering that it is a part for your race car. :D

If you get the switch manufacturer and series, you may find that bezel in their catalog. Once you get the part number, Do a web search for the part number.

Have you looked in the IPC? Mooney often puts the vendor part number in there.

That switch is probably Klixon, Eaton or ETA.

Along the lines of what Yetti posted, maybe something like this?

https://us.rs-online.com/product/nkk-switches/at217a/70364724/

I'm thinking you want to avoid bumping the AP switch, not cover it away from quick access. IIRC that switch is also a breaker and the main way of getting power off with the AP system.

(datasheet linked, clip here, need to better verify the measurements)

The IPC was the first place I looked. They assigned it a Mooney part number and don't mention the vendor, an on the M20TN they don't specify th evendor for the switch, even though I think they are Eaton. I have search everything Eaton and checked on Mouser and Digikey. I ordered a few possibilities from Mouse but none of them worked.

I emailed Frank Crawford and Mooney shows no stock . . .  he recommended that I check with LASAR to see if they plan on ordering a batch from their vendor. I am sure that this part is at the bottom of the list anyone is considering ordering.

I have checked on a G1000 Ovation that was wrecked in Europe since he had switches for sale, but haven't heard anything back.

Thanks. I found this one on Mouser and ordered it in the only color in stock, H, which would have been fine. It doesn't fit properly plus the screw on the top of the switch won't work with this.

I think my best chance to get what I want is to take the switch guard and see if I can find someone locally that can duplicate it with a 3-D printer.

You could ask Frank if it is a manufactured or purchased part. If it is a purchased part, ask for the manufacturers part number.

You could just get an aluminum plate and spend some quality time with your Dremel.

If you want it 3D printed, you have to make a model for it. After you have the model, getting it printed is easy. If nothing else, you need to make a sketch of it.

@LANCECASPER LMK what you learn/decide. I think guarding the AP switch breaker is a good idea.

The A/P switch is in an awkward spot. I've brushed by it and it flips to OFF. Had it happen on an approach in IMC once. I'll let you know.

Do you have your own 3D printer and just need a model, or do you need the part to be printed too?

Can you remove your existing switch guard, put it on a flat bed scanner along with a ruler (you could even print a ruler at 100% scale) and post it or DM me?  I can make some in various sizes and ship them to you.  If you don't want to remove the existing one (maybe it'll chip the paint) I can try to work from the pictures you sent.  It'll probably take about 7 days for them to arrive at your door, if you don't mind waiting.

Wow thanks. I'll send you some much better pictures. I'll be glad to pay for them.

OK, now all I need is a more precise picture to help with the hole spacing.  I can probably get it from the switch drawing though.  Do you know what kind they are?  I think on my '79 J they are called "Klixon" and yours look similar.

I don't know the brand. The Mooney Illustrated Parts Catalog for this Mooney model doesn't say. I can run out the hangar and take a better picture of the holes.

The holes in the cover/guard are certainly good enough.  Maybe you can just tell me the center to center spacing?  I think all of the other dimensions are obtainable from the pictures you posted, thanks for that.

Is the vendor MAC?  Whomever that is?
