Our 201 is in the paint shop being prepped, we have a week or 2 to finalize our new scheme, we are leaning towards the newer schemes found on some of the ovations with the curved two color wave across the fuselage and two whisper lines on top. Blue on the Bottom and white on top with gold accents & 2 tone Reg numbers. Can anyone share there designs or point me towrds there pics.

Check my photo gallery here on Mooneyspace.  I worked with a scheme designer that has lots of Mooney experience, and HIGHLY recommend him.  The price is very reasonable, too.  A few others here have done the same, with great results.  Check Fantom's gallery too since you like blue.

Perhaps a modified BMW scheme?  The lines on the original scheme are a bit sharp and clumsy, but it can be readily modified into a very nice two color mod, with wingtip flourishes in both tones. Just a thought.

Alternately?  Take a look at Ebay (yes, Ebay) under photos, military, aircraft: some striking and yet technically simple classic schemes there, that can be readily translated with the colors of your choice.

Whatever you choose, enjoy the process!  Post pictures for all of us.

I used the designer that Fantom used, great guy, has a lot of designs already on hand, can tweak or customize for you.   My painter has been slow, but  on track to finish by early this week.  I'll post pictures.

I see people are using designers, sometimes using a designer another mooneyspace user used but ommitted that designers name.

What are the names of the good paint scheme designers?

I have a blue and white paint scheme similar to what you are describing, and it looks nice, however, if I were going to go through a repainting ordeal I would go with "Hotdog on a Stick"; Mitch or Jolie can provide and example of that paint job.

Now, how could ANYone dislike that plane?

Even if you despise their color choices (which I don't), you have to give the owners credit for imagination, and just the pure joy they obviously derive from that aircraft. Well done. Let's see more Hot Dogs, and less 'white with a beige stripe'.

Ya know I think my old "C" model looks pretty good, she treats me well, and lots of the Mooneys on here look really nice too but Hot Dog is like the Blonde in the miniskirt with fake hooters I just HAVE to look at her!

Scott and I shared lots of ideas while we were finalizing our designs and I even had his design in my colors done by Brian Smith. All three of us shared designs, colors and details. It worked very well, and YES, both Scott and I paid Brian for his services.

i still can't post replies from any windows based PC! I've tried lots of browsers. It's gotta be something in the Cyber Creations website SW.Frown 'smiles is a lucky man Wink

I finally took delivery of N5810Z yesterday with her new paint.  Delays by the painter, delays by me because of work and travel schedules made it take about a month longer than originally planned, but the end result was worth it.

Great quality work by Straube's Aircraft Services in Ogden, UT and great design by Brian Smith of Wings Aviation in Dallas.

The paints are matterhorn white, metallic artic blue, metallic medium green and metallic Las Vegas gold.

Having trouble attaching pictures to a post, so the pictures are in my gallery.

A beautiful color scheme! Very unique and pleasing departure from the usual reds that we see alot of. Looks fantastic, enjoy!
