I saw a Mooney that had a gear up landing and when the belly pan was removed you could see the springs ground down from the payment.  The airplane was repaired and put back into service without replacing the springs.  I didn't say anything but I sure thought the springs should have been replaced.  Do these springs break.  With Mooney models going back to the late 50's I would think there would be spring failures.

Any sources of the two  compression springs for the Manuel gear ? Can’t seem to locate any.

Thanks

Item 18 is showing no stock at Mooney, what’s wrong with yours?

Both Texas Air Salvage and Safe Skies have bungee assemblies in stock. The assembly from TAS is from an E model but the spring is the same. The safe skies is from a G model. I’d call them both as online inventory isn’t complete. I don’t know who’s searching for you but you’ll have better luck looking for bungee assemblies rather than the compression spring by itself. I found these two in less than a minute.

Thanks. I’ve found some springs by put they have all seen a little concrete polishing   I’ll call the two sources mentioned. I had talked with Texas Salvage before. As to the damage. It looks like a lot of guys just rotate the spring and hide the flattening. Maybe something to check on a pre buy.
