FlightMachineDoubleT Posted July 15, 2020 Report Posted July 15, 2020 Hey folks, I'm involved in the tech world here in California but have always had a desire to fly. My father and I have been flying flight simulators since the MS-DOS days and I'm hoping to get my pilot's license here within the next few years. Just wanted to say "hi!" and that I hope to find myself in control of a Mooney one of these days! Quote

bonal Posted July 15, 2020 Report Posted July 15, 2020 (edited) Welcome,. We all know why we love our Mooneys but just curious as someone who hasn't flown as a pilot what makes you interested in flying our favorite brand. Information might be useful if the factory ever gets back to making airplanes to help their marketing something they desperately need. Edited July 15, 2020 by bonal Quote

carusoam Posted July 15, 2020 Report Posted July 15, 2020 Welcome aboard young buck! I too am new around here... I also have thousands of hours in MSFS... which has two versions of the Mooney Bravo... 1) Old buck style... analog gauges... perfect for dads... Even has a GPS so dad Doesn’t have to be ancient... 2) Young buck style... glass screens... perfect for young guys under the age of 90... The funny thing is Marauder’s friends all have a half dozen digital Color screens Mounted in his instrument panel. If you can... (kind of a tease...) Use the search function to find the flight simulator threads around here... some people have discussed the hardware they use to fly around their home office... I started flying MSFS in monochrome in 1983... and started flying the real plane in the mid 90s... The only difference, aside from the color screens, digital reality, speed of the microprocessor, and the ability to include real weather and other planes.... The airport on the lake outside of Chicago is no longer there... Get started! See how far you can get in the Rod Machado training syllabus in MSFT! Flying using a keyboard as a yoke is a bit challenging... There is a new update out in at least beta format for MSFT... Fly fast! Go Mooney! Did you know that the Mooney is the fastest single engine, factory built, four seater? Best regards, -a- Quote
