bmcconnaha Posted June 30, 2020 Report Posted June 30, 2020 hi all... looking a J or K model. newer the better. budget of up to 125k, but 80-100k is really ideal. trying to keep it under 3k total time. been through Trade a plane, controller, barnstormers etc. let me know if you know of anything. looking for something extremely clean and nice example, one that has been well maintained. thanks in advance Quote
ArtVandelay Posted July 1, 2020 Report Posted July 1, 2020 Ignore total time unless it’s an indication of being used as a trainer. 2 Quote
gsxrpilot Posted July 1, 2020 Report Posted July 1, 2020 In fact low total time might actually be worse than high TT. It often is indicative of a hangar queen which is never a positive for these airplanes. Get one that's flying regularly and ignore the TT number. 2 Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted July 1, 2020 Report Posted July 1, 2020 I know a 1985 M20J with 300 horsepower Mooney Missile conversion that might fit your bill... 1 Quote

bumper Posted August 2, 2020 Report Posted August 2, 2020 (edited) Found one yet? Mine will be for sale due to health issue (not life threatening, fortunately). In the process of figuring out what it should go for, but it could likely be within your budget. 1987 Mooney 201J (LM), 24-1616, N58065 AFTT - 2225 hours ETTSN - 716 hours, Lyc A3B6, installed factory new, (Mod 212 conversion, 2 mags), Power Flow exhaust, McCauley 2 blade. Engine oil heater. Exterior - 9+, factory original paint, always hangared. Interior - 9+, Lake Aero Styling interior upgrade, Oregon Aero Confor front seats, Lake Aero sun visors. Original Bendix King 165's, Strike Finder, older IEI engine monitor. No ADS-B. Other: Speed brakes, LED recognition lights w/wigwag, Pulselight, upper and boot cowl reinforced. Located Minden, NV . bumper Posted August 3, 2020 Report Posted August 3, 2020 Around 900 lb IIRC, pretty much standard 87 201 fare, though it does have a lightweight starter and Power Flow, though a new W&B wasn't done for that. Quote

The paint looks new, back in the 80’s they had much better paint, when I sold my 88 J the paint looked new also. The paint on my 2005 Bravo isn’t nearly as good as those in the 80’s. Pretty plane....... 1 Quote

carusoam Posted December 20, 2020 Report Posted December 20, 2020 Congrats on your first post TCP! @TCP Fortunately, Bumper’s plane price has just been updated (see his note below)... so we know it hasn’t been overpriced... His plane was in the discussion phase of starting the sales process when this thread started... Ask as many questions as you can... With the weekend here, this may become a popular discussion... bumper Posted December 20, 2020 Report Posted December 20, 2020 (edited) Currently looking at hip replacement and maybe another laminotomy - - that'll have to do as to excuses for not getting it in annual and ready for sale. Thus the "expectations" of what asking should be are also dropping. Started around 123K (vref), but that's down to 110 or so and open to offers. Edited December 20, 2020 by bumper 2 Quote
