Why, is it made of a different metal than original exhaust?

Not sure , but that is spelled out in instructions for continued airworthiness , Which means it is required

But is there any notable performance improvement? 10kts, better fuel burn, maybe it pays for itself if you fly enough, maybe not. Please tell what you have both seen before vs after.

Expect that David will get back to you...

He is a pretty skilled aviator, I would expect if it came off an IO360 he would have been more descriptive...

But, stand by for David... that exhaust system looks pretty nice!

Learning/re-learning so much Mooney knowledge is a powerful driving force!   :)

Getting to know all the Mooney pilots... that’s a side benefit!

My C has the original O-360 parallel valve 180 horsepower engine.  The exhaust appears to be in very good condition.  I have not removed the muffler cover but what I can see, the muffler is also in very good condition.  This exhaust will  not fit the IO-360 angle valve 200 horsepower engines.

As far as a Powerflow pirep, I flew from the maintenance shop to a radio shop for ADSB install.  Will be there 4 weeks.  At 7500' there appeared to be a 3-4 knot improvement in speed.

  • 4 weeks later...
  • David Lloyd changed the title to Exhaust System Sold Sold
