can anyone tell me which pump this is?

I couldn't actually SEE the numbers until I looked at the pic, and all I can make out is omond 6d and I THINK 1270C. Maybe more to do with the motor than the pump.

I'm betting someone that has seen these a couple times can tell me easily, it looks like we're just ahead of the bulletin to replace the duke's pumps with weldens, so I'm GUESSING we have one of those?

Looks like your Weldon aux fuel pump. The model info will be on the pump if you remove it.

one end should be going to the fuel valve selector. Any particular reason you want to overahaul it ?

some corrosion that could be taken care of as well

The little nub on the bottom of the fuel pump a couple times I had a little drip of fuel come out, is that a sign that something may be wrong?

Yes, if it is dripping any fuel out of the drain the seals have gone bad and the pump needs overhauling.

Dan,

When the pump is on, the drip might be a stream...  My IO550 pump is most likely different than yours.  Somebody told me they saw a stream of fuel come out while I was priming...

I got a reminder when i saw a drip fall out while doing a pre-flight...

Leaking from the centre fitting means that the seal on the pump is leaking.  This seal keeps the fuel and electricity from mixing and should be repaired.

yes it was a little drip, the tip was moist, did not rum out or stream when turned on. I'm going on a couple long flights in a few day's, it this something that will go suddenly? Or should I get it fixed before I go if the MSC can get me in.

It looks like the aux fuel pump.  On my 231, it originally came with a Dukes pump.  --And someone bought the company that makes the replacement parts and overhauls became very expensive.   That said, I found one place that would overhaul the pump for around $400.  http://www.aeromotorsllc.com/aeromotorsllc Weldon also makes a PMA replacement pump that was around $800, which was cheaper than a Dukes overhaul from most places.  Likely a better quality pump too.

The excess fuel from priming streams out from the copilot side exhaust fairing I think (the hose you have to disconnect every time the lower cowling is removed). It is not recirculated back to the fuel tanks. Probably would make a few environmentalists very unhappy.

It's a sign of coming failure, it will only get worse with time. If a pump and time is available, I would change it.
