Good for anyone thinking about converting a C to an E...

John,

Where did the prop go?

Best regards,

Has anyone done a conversation to a 200HP engine on this forum from a C or G? I looked into it a while back and it didn't seem to make sense. What are the all-in estimated costs if I find a used engine like this? I have an M20G that I'd love to get an extra 20HP for. Would my useful load change at all as part of the extra HP? An extra 100lbs would be perfect (said every Mooney owner ever).

Many people think about it.  A few have been done...

The challenge is typically the cost being so prohibitive that it often makes sense to just buy the next plane already completed.

Some people have spent a long time updating their favorite C, and may prefer to update to an IO360 at OH time...

Things that are needed for this project...

- IO360 (complete)

- prop

- spinner

- cowl

- STC (Lasar)

- and probably many other details...

I'm only a PP, not a mechanic...

Best regards,

-a-
