This is probably a silly question... but I plan on replacing my old vacuum AI with a new RC Allen electric AI sometime in the near future. When I look at it on Spruce there are 3 options for tilt. I don't know anything about tilt, and just want to make sure I order the correct one when I do. I have a stock shotgun panel in my 1968 M20C... do I need to order this with tilt or not?

Also, 3" is the correct size for replacing a standard attitude indicator, right? I noticed they have both 2" and 3".

Yes, your 68 C has tilt. look on your existing instrument to see what the tilt is or get a tilt gauge and measure the tilt of the panel and the tilt of the plane to get the tilt of the panel.

My C with original "bent" style pilot's panel measures 0 degree on the upper part. That's measured in level flight.

The lower half and the entire copilot side are inclined 14 degrees.

You do need to specify the proper panel tilt for the AI to erect showing level.
