I have a little map light on the bottom of my yoke (underneath) and the bulb finally died on me. Has anyone replaced this on theirs?

I have been searching for the replacement bulb with no luck...thanks for any help!

I'm sure you know this, but just in case (from a guy who replaced the map light twice before realizing it...)  The map light circuit on my plane is only energized when the rest of panel lights are on.  Once those dimmers are turned on, the map lights will work.

Mine has not been working because of the lack of bulb, however I have spare 330 bulbs and I checked mine with the bulb and it works. However there are threads in the hole but there's nothing to hold the bulb in place.  I think I'm missing a housing part that screws in but the plane came as is so I don't know what part is missing and I can't seem to find anything in the maintenance manual about it.  Any suggestions?

Sounds like you are missing the outer ring that screws into the hole. I have my old yokes at home. Let me see if that piece is still on it.

Thanks, I'm not sure if it's the same as the F model.  I did a search online and came up with this but it doesn't look like it will fit from the photo.

The 1975 F model yokes were different than the later model J ones. I had my original yokes changed over to the new style yokes to allow for AP hardware to be easier mounted. The map light is in fact the same on my original F yokes as the J yokes. I went home at lunch and found that that piece is missing. I am assuming that it was moved over to the J style yoke when my mechanic did the conversion.

The picture in your link is definietly different. That may be an overhead maplight. The part you are looking for is a small metal ring with a hex nut top on it.

I think you're right. I didn't even think of it being an overhead map light but that's what it looks like it is. I wonder what the chances are of finding the part you describe.

I will take a run out to the airport and capture some pictures of it for you. Wonder if it is used for anything else.

That could be spun out on the lathe.  If you could get some dimensions.   The thread pitch.  I would probably go with a knurl instead of the spanner wrench holes.   The blue light cover could be cut from some plastic.   Does not seem too hard a sample would make it easier to duplicate.
