I'm at my airfield this morning, just washing, polishing, pampering my favorite winged girl when another Mooney arrives in town.  Turns out it's a fellow MooneySpace user coming to San Antonio from Seattle for a bit.  Kind of neat to just randomly encouter another Mooney owner and strike up a conversation.  I wonder if that happens to the owners/pilots of those slower, high winged aircraft?  Of course, the story of flying in the "flight levels" to cross the Rockies made me and my lil' ol' 75F jealous.  Lately everything keeps telling me I should donate my girl to a worthy aspiring pilot (for reasonable monetary considerations, of course) and adopt myself a 231 or 252.

Here's what I think about being a Mooney owner Laughing

It may be a small thing, but the first time you dial in 29.92 on your altimeter at FL180 it is pretty cool.  Then you get to talk to ATC in terms of "Flight Level Two Zero Zero" instead of thousands of feet.  I am sure it will become routine, but not yet.
