Always wanted one of those vintage Mooney leather key fobs. Got one on Ebay last night. Has leather embossed with Vintage Mooney Logo and "drop in mailbox if found" Kerrville, TX.

Pretty cool. In great condition. Looking forward to receiving it. History? Were these sold with the planes back in the day? Anyone know when they stopped? I need to find an ABC leather kit so I can stamp my N-Number. :)

Dave was talking about it. N1960A, a 1960 M20-A. I think it's a hobby for him, but I don't remember anything coming of the discussion.

Thanks. Yes, I tried to do a search for that thread and couldn't locate it. I have been searching for one after seeing that thread. I little vintage leather to go with my vintage plane. Or perhaps just a re-make of same?

Seems the one Dave was talking about making was the old one that folds over the keys to make a clean triangle to drop in your pocket. Do you have a picture of the one you just bought? Maybe we can entice Dave to make some this time.

I like that it is very small/compact. Barely bigger than the keys. Still wondering if they came from Mooney with plane or if there was a vendor back when these key fobs were popular? Now to get the N-Number stamped in the leather...

Back in the day the dealer often gave the buyer a gift. Weber sent me a model of my J when I bought my first Mooney from him...wish there was still gratitude today..

I got two models from the factory, painted in my scheme. The fist one was a Bravo. When I told them I was coming back to Kerrville to pick up my new aircraft, they quickly sent me a correct MSE. They also gave us Mooney jackets and baseball caps.

No more of that, I'm guessing.

By golly - if I buy a brand new $700k Mooney - I want a "free" key chain!  AND a hat!

I fly a used Mooney.  I had to buy my own key chain and hat.

My Mooney was very used when I bought it. It came with a hat, some patches and every year or so I'd get another set of keys the PO found somewhere. I think I'm at five sets now, maybe more.

It's all in who you buy your used Mooney from.
