  1. I don't have a close up, but here is a teaser. Lasar supplied and installed these for me. There is a sheet metal bracket that is screwed into place and has a place for your to install screws to hold the lens into place. Ron
  2. Advanced Aviation did my fuel tanks. Greg was great to work with. Work Completed on time as promised. As Greg and I were doing the paperwork, his guys were pulling the interior to get started. I would highly recommend them. Greg took me to Portland airport and picked me up for connections to the airlines. Ron
  3. I have some time in a Cardinal also. 68 model with 150HP. I don't remember cowl flaps. It was fun to fly, just slow and very economical compared to the twin I was flying at the time. Ron
  4. Looks very interesting
  5. Let's try this again. Try the faa site. auto check got me. Ron
  6. Try the fact website.
  7. Call Lasar. they will have the switch. they replaced mine last August, I don't remember the cost though. I have 69f. Ron
  8. What time is it on, and what day and channel? Sounds Interesting. Ron
  9. My wife's thought "what a high maintenance b------".
  10. 15,000 is all I could get out of my F on a hot summer day at about 2400 lbs.. On cool days I have at 15000 and still climbing. Ron
  11. Charlie weights are lead weights added in the tail for balance. Usually found on the K's and newer. Ron
  12. I have a 69F and have upgraded it also. Not as far as Shadrack's though. Vintage Mooney's have a greater useful load than many newer ones. Over the last 8 years I have installed a 430W, new audio panel, new transponder, S-tec 30 auto pilot with altitude hold, gpss, and an engine monitor. completed a top overhaul, and this year, resealed the tanks, new leather interior and new paint, covered the yokes. As I say, I have a new 45 year old plane. I do not plan on selling for many years. I probably have $130,000 in mine, but what could I buy for a $130,000 and not need to make improvements. Yes I still have a list of improvements I would to do, but they can wait. They are wants, not needs. Ron
  13. I had Lasar install a 2nd landing light, Both should be LED's. Ron
  14. My 69F is the same as Hanks C. I can fine tune it very accurately, I also have my hand on the throttle, prop and mixture at one time, and can raise the flaps on roll out without taking my hand off of the other engine controls. I have had instructors comment on me retracting the flaps on roll out, when I show them that I do not move my hand, they are ok with it. Ron
  15. I was at Lasar Monday, mentioned to Paul that I might reweigh my aircraft, a 69F. He told me that I will be sorry if I do. I have heard that we can expect that the plane has gotten heavier over the years. How many additions have been added with no weight gain, 1/2# pound here and there, new interior, paint, did they remove all of the old electronics and wiring, install new cover plates over the removed antanae's, dirt and grease, etc. Ron
  16. In my F. I have an IO 360 C1C. With log book entry's converting it to an A1A, the correct model. There is also a 337 for this. Double check this also. I have had many annual's with different shops, they have been good with this. Ron
  17. I have told my wife to put it on the belly, If I am incapacitated, my medical is gone anyways, might as well sell the plane to the insurance company, rather than dealing with the sale latter. but my F is insured for a lot less than a new O. Ron
  18. On the IPad, use the back button, instead so selecting unread topics again. Ron
  19. Bonal Your plane looks great. I have used in the past, the engine hoist hooked to the engine mounts, and weight under the tail. The engine hoist concerns me, about the tail being able to go down when climbing on the step, Tail stand stops that. Ron
  20. Lasar, did my annual last summer. the plane flies better now than ever. Ron
  21. George's electric as posted above. There is an AD Note for inspection. I think it is every 200 hours. I don't have the info handy. Have Lasar or Top Gun do the inspection while it is out of the plane. If needed replace the gears, I like the 40:1 that replaced the 20:1 that originally come with the plane. Ron
  22. It's marginal here on the Sierra's, We will be staying home. Let's do this again when El Nino is slowing down. Ron
  23. I was in Fresno Fido last week. Nice guy to talk with. Led's for nav lights came up, his statement "Whelen has some. " Ron
  24. The avionics bay on my F are camlocs, not screws and should be held into the panel. the access panels in the tail are the same as the wing panels, the 2 panels that cover the tail moving section are small sheet metal screws. Hope yours is the same. Ron
