  1. Call Greg at Advanced Aircraft in Troutdale for information. Greg did a great job on mine. Also call whoever did the work about warrantee repairs. Ron
  2. I can just visualize it. Mooney xxx turn right 30* for traffic. 5 minutes later, Mooney xxx turn right 30* for traffic. 5 minutes later, Mooney xxx turn left 60* to intercept original course. 2 minutes later, Mooney xxx slow to 120 knots for traffic., 3 minutes later, Mooney xxx turn left 30* for traffic. Later, Mooney xxx turn back to original course. Mooney complains, more diversions, and never approved back to cruise speed. Mooney xxx, have a great day from Chicago center, I forgot, I'm Atlantic approach today. silently " tell me to F off".
  3. I flew across Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico today, VFR, many of course deviations for traffic and weather and more weather, FF suggested some, I asked for others. Many reports of wet weather ahead, and suggested for course changes. We worked together and had a great day. I was up to 14,500 with an outside temp of 40F, not much climb left in my F. Density Altitude would not let me depart Gallup NM for home (9400), I am in a Motel. An inexpensive Turbo for my F sure looks good right now. The FBO in Gallup is great, took me to a Motel and will pick me up in the morning on the way to work in the morning. This is probably my 20th trip in 30 years to Oklahoma and the first time I had to stay in a Motel, and it was both ways this year. Ron
  4. I departed grants this morning,. 8300 density altitude and climbed out at 500fpm,. 1200 ago at midfield downwind. About 2500 lbs wt. Ron. 69 F.
  5. My Stec 30 system does the same thing, I just adjust the trim a little and it stops. Ron
  6. gsxrpilot When are you going to be at KMPI. I may be able to come out. There are 3 Mooney's on the field now. Ron
  7. When I did my SI 3rd class several weeks ago, I asked what the effect of the PBOR2 would be on me. I was told that the FAA hasn't figured out how they are going to handle SI. My SI is for a mild heart attack 8 years ago, and now diabetes. I have no heart symptoms at all, and am very active still. Diabetes is being controlled with diet. My personal Dr. is not a fan of my flying, but she does realize that I am doing regular medical check ups to keep my medical, will I be seeing her as much without a medical hanging over my head and wings?? Time will tell. With all of this, ADS-B and other regulations, retirement will probably not happen unless I sell the plane. Expenses are just getting to high. Ron
  8. In my F, there are seat stops that prevent you from going that far back. Large cotter keys. Ron
  9. In my Mooney, it is real simple. 64 gallons of gas. 5 to 5 1/2 hrs. at 10 gallons or less of gas. period. If I have a tail wind of a 100 mph I went a long ways, If I have a head wind of a 100 mph I did not go very far. The clock and fuel flow determine when to land, not the fuel gauges. Ron
  10. My 69F is the quadrant an the standard layout. Most of my experience is multi engine, so this works great for me. Ron
  11. It only takes money to fix what your are stuck with. amu's Ron
  12. I prefer the quadrant my self. I can grab the throttle, prop and mixture all at once as needed, and operate the flaps with out taking my hand off at all. Retract the flaps on the runway and my hand never leaves the engine controls. I fly a Comanche several months ago, and the throttle with the center push button friction lock was very inconvenient for me. Ron
  13. Filters at every annual, last August. Brittain system removed years ago, no new vacuum instruments, and last changed April of 07, about 450 hrs. ago for me. Had regulator turned up last August, seems to be getting worse. Ron
  14. I have been noticing that my vacuum gauge at idle, is only showing 1 or 2 inches, Horizon is not showing level. The low vacuum light is on sometimes. At 1500 rpm, the gauge shows about 5#'s of vacuum. The existing pump has about 400+/- hrs. on it. Is the pump screaming, replace me?? Thanks Ron
  15. I have been flying as a child since 1968 and since. I have been around construction most of my adult life and before more regulations, and have been reloading lead ammo for years. I was tested last year, and did not show any levels of lead. My understanding is, that as adults we will make new brain cells to replace the ones damaged by lead, but CHILDREN under 8 can not.??? This is the reason for all of the restrictions today. I am not an expert or a Doctor. Please double check for your self. Ron
  16. Future user fees are coming, and we are providing the methods, even VFR without flight following. Ron
  17. 69F Dukes gear box. 20:1 gears, 120 MPH gear speed. Gears were worn out at aver 4000 hrs. I had 40:1 installed, gear speeds still the same. Could be higher, maybe in the early J's. 40:1 gears are much smoother to operate. Twice as long for the same motion. Ron
  18. You might get the plane reweighed, and is the plane eligible for the Encore upgrade. At 600#'s in my opinion, it is not usable. 120 gallons of gas is 720#'s. Ron
  19. If you get a new prop, I may be interested in the Hub. I have great blades and am doing the Eddie Current inspection every 100 hours. Ron
  20. Mickey Mouse balloon over Disneyland at 4000 ft. Ron
  21. Can the prop pass an eci inspection for the AD? Usually 100 to 300.00. Ron
  22. My 69F is the Dukes, with the crank on the wall. Not fun to use, fortunately have only used for practice/maintenance while doing the annual. I have replaced the gears though, and had the 40:1's installed. Ron
  23. My 69F has split, reclining rear seats also. Easy to remove backs for a huge baggage area. Ron
  24. Lasar billed me 40 hrs for mine. I did hear that it took more though. Ron. With a 69F
