  1. But, what is proper value. Some of us have way to many improvements in them to ever get the money out of them. In 8 years I started with a good F, and now I have spent over a$100,000 on it, and still need/want more. Ron
  2. I just learned about he ODP's. I had to look for 5 minutes using wing-x pro to find it. Thanks again to Mooneyspace for teaching me more. Ron
  3. Yes. I have a pilot yoke on my co-pilot side. When my pc system was installed I had dual pc disconnects and dual push to talk. I also have clocks in both yokes. Ron
  4. I have 500 hours in a 310G. I have had an engine failure in it, on takeoff, just before rotation. It was not fun. But I kept it on the runway. A 310G will fly and climb on 1 engine, I have done this many times in practice. You must stay current and practice. If you are above single engine service ceiling the plane will start a controlled slow descent, hopefully there is a runway available soon, before you run out of airspace. the descent rate will depend on your density altitude above the single engine service ceiling. You can fly a long ways on 1 engine if needed. Again practice and be current. On the 310G, stall is 80mph, vmc was 80 also, rotation at 95mph, vyse 114mph and vyme 126mph. Cruise climb is 140mph. Cruise speed is 185Knots and 25 gph. All Speeds can and will very by aircraft weight, and CG. If you are in your Mooney, an engine failure anywhere, the decision is made for you, you are going down, hopefully a runway is available. I fly a Mooney, I would have another 310 if I could afford the maintenance, fuel and the costs to stay current and proficient. I can afford to do these in my Mooney.
  5. I can't make it next Saturday. Other plans in the works. But lets try it again soon. Ron
  6. Western sierra's shows rain sat thru Tuesday.
  7. Also in 69 all F's have electric gear and flaps standard 6 pack instrument layout. So many have mods, they are much more similar to J's, than earlier manual gear Mooney's. Ron
  8. Weather reports are looking good so far. Ron
  9. Maybe this should be the first aircraft in the Mooney Museum? Stacey???
  10. Sorry auto correct. FSS not fess. Ron
  11. Mitch. Is the Awos going to be connected to fess? KMPI is not. Ron
  12. I have landed there many times in my F and a C310. Put the plane on speed and you can land easily. Ron
  13. Greg did my tanks August of 2015 for me. They do not leak. They were done on time, on budget per the quote. Greg will also help you connect with airline flights. I had done a couple of patches in my F. My sealant was original 1969. It was still solid, just weak in a couple of areas. I have experience in looking for roof leaks and repairing them, the procedures are similar. I would not try to do a complete strip and reseal on my own, with or without supervision. Ron
  14. Hopefully We can join you also. Ron
  15. I saw my personal Dr. at Kaiser yesterday, bad news on other stuff. She did say that She would sign the Medical form, after all, who knows me better medically than her. She did ask about the Cardiologist, and I told her that those requirements would not be required anymore, but I do feel that they would be a great idea to continue with. Ron
  16. I can look next week when I go to the airport. Lasar did mine 8-18. I know that they used pull through rivets on many of the speed mods installed. Ron
  17. In my F, class A is impractical for me. Now if I had a turbo, I would have to rethink this. Ron
  18. Is one tank airworthy enough to ferry the plane to a Fuel tank reseal shop. There are at least 4 in the USA, probably more. Can 1 tank be patched to get it to a reseal shop? Patching is not hard, but is temporary. I got at least 5 or more years out of my patches. Could a top coat be applied to stop the powdering affect going on, again to take the plane to a reseal shop. There must be another way, keep looking. I am not a fan of bladders, I did have my tanks resealed 18 months ago in Troutdale Oregon and was very happy with the results. Others have taken there planes half way across the country to get them done. Ron
  19. AC 68-1 Appendix A is the form for the basic med. I am going to drop a copy off, or possibly see my DR. to see if this is something that She can sign. Kaiser will not do Drivers license medicals, but She did state if She can call this a "physical" She probably could. My nest step would be to contact my AME to see what steps He may require. I am on a SI and am over 40. I jump thru the hoops yearly. Younger healthier pilots may want to keep up the 3rd class physical, it may be simpler. Ron
  20. I talked to my primary care giver Tuesday at Kaiser. She told me that Kaiser will not do drivers license medicals. She "may" be able to help and call it a general purpose medical and fill out the paper work. She does sign yearly a letter to the FAA for my SI. She is also not a fan of flying, and I have offered many times to take her for a ride. Last week, I found a draft of the medical form on line and can not find it again. Do you have a copy that could be shared/?? My SI expires the end of May. Hopefully with the form she will understand more and help. I may have to continue with the SI or try something else. I am also going to call me AME and get his input. Thanks Ron
  21. Robert. The weather is getting better. It is snowing, 25 miles southeast of mariposa. Central CA for the rest. Ron
  22. I have been flying for over 45 years. I fly VFR almost exclusively. I got my Instrument rating about 9 years ago. This made me a better pilot, and safer. I have been solid IFR twice and felt much more comfortable than trying to weave my way around the clouds. I do practice and complete a yearly IPC to maintain my currency. A late afternoon approach into an unfamiliar airport, early evening approach even to a familiar airport, shoot the approach. Currency will help with this. IN the training, I shot many back coarse approaches with a circle to land, I learned the fly the plane very well. Mooney's have a reputation for being hard to fly, BS, just learn the plane. This training created a much better pilot and happier owner. My wife is also very happy. I fly out of Central California mountain airport, know the area very well. IFR approach minimum are higher than vfr minimums, but when ite bad, go somewhere else and rent a car. When I flew to the MAPA homecoming, it meant a departure 45 minutes before sun up, very little horizon. I was very comfortable doing this as I was current on the instruments. Be safe, and make an intelligent choice of what is right for you. There are old pilots, there are bold pilots, but there are NO old bold pilots. Ron
  23. My 3rd class medical expires June 30, 2017. What do I need to do at that time, Dr. appointment, or the on line course? I am on a special issuance, needs to be renewed yearly. Ron
