  1. If your willing to take a ride up this way we would pay for your fuel and take you out to lunch or dinner . Dan @ 603-361-7493
  2. Hey there everyone !! Is there anyone near S.NH that has a " PRE J Model " I could get to fly to Concord NH ...KCON . I will pay for your fuel and buy lunch if you can fly your bird here . My aircraft partner and I are looking at Mooneys. I owned a 66 M20C but had to sell her due to divorce . My partner is a big dude 6'2 and I want him to see if he can fit in a Mooney . Basically anyone with a M20C-M20F . Just want a kind hearted pilot who would fly here just so we can see if my friend can get in and out of a Mooney . We are looking at several aircraft to purchase but my first choice is a MOONEY . Im a die hard all things Mooney guy .......Dan@ 603-361-7493......Text or leave message please.....
  3. Gonna be sad to see her go , but Paul got a fantastic deal in my opinion. She is in great shape and runs like a top
  4. You have to position the lock tail to lock when the key is out. The lock holds the key when lock is unlocked per say. Also you have to make sure the tail is removable , some real cheap ones have the tail stamped on so they can't be removed. Also you can't get the lock barrel thru the lock opening unless you remove the tail .
  5. i work for property maint company and i used a standard mail box lock. Works great , the key won't come out when the lock/door is open, which is good because you won't forget to lock the door. I also put one on the baggage door.
  6. I had this problem in my C right before annual. Very hard to start last 4 flights , come to find out at annual I had sloshing compound coating my tanks which is totally illegally.well the compound disintegrated and was clogging up my carb.Clogged up to the point where my primer pump filter screen was clogged solid. My Mech can't believe I even got it started on my last flight and said I was incredibly lucky the motor didn't quit in mid flight. He couldn't start it at all to bring her across the tarmac to get her in the hangar to start my first annual.Im in the process of getting bladders installed but my point being have your Mech check your primer pump and primer nozzle. Just could be debris in the primer pump nozzle or primer screen .
  7. From my research even the best strip / reseal in the buisness has only a 7 yr guarantee so in essence after 10 yrs you start to worry. And eventually they gotta be stripped and resealed anyway. With bladders if you take care of them they can last 30-40 yrs. and yes 20 yrs down the road if you have a leak you can send them out to be patched. My Mech says he knows a place that can do patching for $400 a bag out in Cali , not sure of the place ....
  8. After being in contact with Griggs Aircraft every few weeks since Jan , it looks like the old O&N STC will be finally transfered on Aug 8 th. The final FAA inspection will be completed that day and will be given approval same day. Long story but I've been waiting since Jan to get these bladders to get my bird back in the air. Ruth Griggs has been extremely helpful and informative thru this process. Keeping me updated with progress . I'm told I will be getting the first bladder kit to go out the door and can't wait because only thing holding up my bird is the tanks. I can't explain how elated I am in the fact I almost sold my bird after the news I needed bladders and couldn't afford them at the time. But since Jan I have landed several side jobs which has made it possible to keep my beloved bird. So anyone needing a bladder kit for a Mooney less than a month away !!!
  9. Thanks guys , but it's only one bladder and I need the whole kit . Jerry I just might take you up on the ferry tank if it comes to that. I'm holding off till Griggs gets the STC approval for sale of the bladder kits. I'm the first one on their list when they can sell them to the public
  10. The reason I put $7,000 into a motor that has 2600 hrs is because it starts right up . Prop hasn't done a complete revolution and it's running, makes no metal at all in oil analysis, comps are all at 78 , uses / burns no oil at all. I think that's a great reason
  11. Yes $7,000 was for annual including fixing a lot of minor discrepancies.
  12. Yes this is the same bird that had the sloshing compound found in the tanks. My Mech says I still have high compression and she makes no metal so why overhaul it now. He said wait till she starts making metal and the comps drop.My initial plan was to fly her for a few yrs , pay her off then get the motor rebuilt. But now after the tanks $11,000 installed and about $7,000 into the motor she's been a money eater first annual. I won't consider any pilot who has less than 300 hrs.
