I recently traded planes and I guess unless its brand new you take on new squawks and have to learn new things about the new systems. Well, I had some avionics work done (LOTS) and since I hadn't flown it too much before the avionics work I can't say the problem was there before or not. I needed to get some instruction in before insurance would cover me and I didn't get the instruction until after the radio work. So I get the plane back and when I go for a flight and arrive at the destination airport the landing gear circuit breaker is usually tipped seems it happens after the gear is extended for landing. . I had a mechanic look at the obvious, ( gear travel limit switches ) and they look fine. He/we checked those and also the preload all was within specs. SO........I guess I'll take it back to the radio shop and let them have it while I am out of town. A puzzling thing I've noticed is the flap cb was popped last time. I read somewhere about a low voltage could cause breaker problems so now I am wonder if it could be that. I tried the emergency extension system and it worked no problem while it was on jacks. This makes me think it has nothing to do with the gear or actuator.

Btw I LOVE this new bird!

Sometimes after avionics work I have had circuit breakers trip due to metal shavings from the avionics work somehow getting behind the breakers creating a short. Usually a one time event in that case, as the shaving will burn up. Obviously, your situation may be totally different.

I had a problem with flap CB popping. The limit switches for the 15 degree stop were miss adjusted. A slight reallignment fixed the problem.

When I first purchased my Eagle a few years ago I had a similar problem with a circuit breaker continuously popping. Eventually I took it to Air Mods a Mooney service center. It turned out to be a washer that lodged next to the circuit breaker from radio work that the previous owner had done. That problem cost him a new battery and alternator that he did not need due to mechanics replacing parts rather than finding the cause. BTW the mechanic found the issue by hitting the circuit breaker panel in a dimly lit hanger and seeing the sparks fly.

After my avionics upgrade in December I was able to open a hardware store with all of the nuts, bolts, screws, washers, spacers, timmermans and assorted hardware that came showering out after every flight.
