carusoam Posted January 26, 2023 Report Posted January 26, 2023 Not sure when Mooney will build my next plane… But, while waiting… I like the machines that got modified by Rocket Engineering… Next stop… Turbine…. Find the thread where people posted what their other plane(s) are… The cool thing about an LB… it is great preparation for your next plane… There are about a half dozen MSers that have gone turbine after long term ownership of a Mooney… PP thoughts only, long past retiring… or long time until I retire…. I’m not sure which… Best regards, -a- 1 Quote
Canadian Gal Posted January 26, 2023 Author Report Posted January 26, 2023 You don't even need to watch the video, just turn up the volume and listen. Ahhhh 3 Quote
carusoam Posted January 26, 2023 Report Posted January 26, 2023 CG, This is the MSer mentioned above with the C195… good to have two planes… especially traveling around Canada… One for speed and efficiency… and the other one. Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

carusoam Posted January 26, 2023 Report Posted January 26, 2023 There is a YouTuber that recently bought an Aerostar… and has a few videos about his early ownership experience… Nice plane… I prefer the single big engine…. Two engines aren’t friendly to my mission…. Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

Schllc Posted January 26, 2023 Report Posted January 26, 2023 I’d have to go with the P51 as well. 2-1/2 hours of dual, the most fun I’ve ever had with my pants on. 2 2 Quote

carusoam Posted January 26, 2023 Report Posted January 26, 2023 Both are Commander 1000s… One is very affordable… I had a customer based in Mexico… He used his Mooney to travel between factories… Until he bought a twin jet Commander… gave his brother the Mooney! Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

glbtrottr Posted January 26, 2023 Report Posted January 26, 2023 D17S. Nice Beechcraft staggerwing. A cool 350-500kLancair propjet. A bit over a mil. Aerostar…it ain’t the acquisition costs…Truth be told I stopped at St Angelo and that T38 nasa was flying wouldn’t be a bad deal. And you can even buy them in the open market - heck. I’ve even seen a4 scooters for sale…Some nice polished Beech 18’s outthere…how many hundreds of gallons of fuel per flight? I’d take paul Allen’s former mig29…Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

Pinecone Posted January 26, 2023 Report Posted January 26, 2023 If a BIG lottery, I would contact those guys in NZ and have them do a Mosquito Mark VI for me. What is better than a Merlin? TWO Merlins. 1 1 Quote
JayMatt Posted January 26, 2023 Report Posted January 26, 2023 Always and forever an LX7. I almost bought a Lancair over a Mooney to begin with but ultimately my better judgement prevailed. The LX7 is out of my price range but by far the best plane in existance imo. Hopefully a few year from now the older versions will come down in price. 1 Quote

Put me down for a Super Cub on straight floats. And a turbine LX-7 to get me from my hangar to somewhere near the water. That's what the hard points are for. That's where you attach the luggage pods.
