I am aware that Aero Comfort will repair/recover glare shields (its the weekend/I haven't called them)  but the shield in my Rocket is warped, busted up, it looks like multiple attempts have been made to repair it. it looks okay installed, it has been recovered but, still all bent up. I think it is a lost cause.  Does anyone know of a replacement source or have experience with Aero Comfort on a shield that is all jacked up?

The Ashby shield would be a good base for someone who was good with fiberglass to use to modify to fit the 231.

It will last forever. It is sturdy as hell.

I have one. It doesn’t fit as good as the original, but when the Mooney is rusting away in some salvage yard in the next century, the glare shield will still be good.

How is the 231 different than the 201 at the glare shield ?

Is the Ashby covered ?

The 231 has the bump for the annunciators, the 201 doesn’t, so you have to build that up.

You have to put your own lights in and your own covering and padding.

I am reasonably sure that Hector has done glareshields in worse shape than yours. I have had him do a beautiful job on glareshields on a couple of the Mooneys that I have owned.

For a second I thought the subject line was the price.

Given aviation prices lately, you would be forgiven for making such an understandable mistake. I have a glareshield by Hector at AeroComfort and it looks fantastic! I do not know what it looked like previously but there is a repair or two he obviously made before the reconditioning.
