I have a bad exhaust  valve on one of my Lycoming angle valve cylinders.  Shops are quoting me 4-6 weeks turnaround. Has anyone had any recent experience with cylinder shops?  Any place where I might find a serviceable exchange cylinder?  What are my options for new?  My bad cyl. is 600 since overhaul nikel carbide so, hopefully the valve, guide and sear are all I need.

Tim's Aircraft Engines in Long Beach did my cylinders a few hundred hours ago - fairly quick turn and so far no issues at all.  Don't know what their current TAT is.

If not, last time i needed one, western skyways had a first run OHd available immediately for me.

No, the valve is free in the guide.  Leaking out exhaust. Staking no help. Borescope shows classic “bite” discoloration  of the side of the valve

Thanks for the info. on Western Skyways. I’ll check with them.

None new at Airpower. Maybe between Nov. and next Spring they say.

I am not sure if you want to send your cylinder to Canada, but I have two of my IO-360 cylinders in a place in the province of Quebec right now called Aero-Atelier. 1-819-538-6768. Not living in Quebec myself, I was reluctant to send them there, but their customer service has been top notch so far. Within a week of them receiving them they started to work on them. I cannot report how it finished as they only started the work this week. I was quoted $1,785 Canadian dollars per cylinder, which is $1,285 USD. Their quote included everything needed. Canadians throughout the country are starting to send engines and cylinders to Aero-Atelier.

I readily send work to the US, so there is no reason that it cannot come the other way too.

They aren’t fast for sure. Back in 2018 they took a couple months to do six cylinders for me.
