I'm trying to narrow down a paint scheme for my M20K.

I'd like to see suggestions and PICs of airplanes that made you go WOW!  Here's one that I like but needs to be tweeked.

My wife found these pics on the internet and wants a paint job. I like the teal but the number of colors makes me think the quote will be more than I want to spend...

That is Pia B's plane and was recently listed for sale!  She had it done at Art Craft in CA, and I believe she wrote a story about it in Flying or similar.  (I can't remember who she writes for currently!)  I expect she detailed the paint process so you can find out...

I’m boring, I like mostly white - I’d do something like this (minus the Eagle):

Easier to fix/keep up with…

I remember when he was doing that project and it was impressive.  Sad to see all these years later it appears that he hasn't really flown it much!  When I saw the ad recently (it seems to be gone now) it was showing 8xx hours total time if my memory serves!

That one has an interesting story behind it:  https://blog.n252q.com/

If I remember correctly it was one built with only one alternator, which is less desirable. Beautiful airplane though.

Going for 262 in May; now at 249.  Price is coming down.  Also, what is going on with Acclaims?  I think 4 in the 400 range, and one in the 600 range.  Admittedly low time, but 200k is a big difference.

The engine is 35 years old and the panel would have been very nice 16  years ago, but the real value in this airplane is the low time airframe. You can zero time an engine and you can redo the panel, but you can't zero time an airframe. Find another 252 with 800 hours on the airframe.

Considering that I don't think he's way off on the price, maybe $25,000? It would be a lot more appealing with the MB2 engine with 2 alternators though. Very few 252s had only one alternator. Someone like Maxwell could probably upgrade it to a 2 alternator engine and do the Encore conversion.

I think it said 861. It’s a gorgeous plane.
