Well its done and its flown!

Just a couple small programing issues after 30 min test hop.  Fixed quickly

Now Inflight compass calibration and horizon  pitch correction tomorrow.

BUT- on the way to home drome (40 mins) I got a rough running left mag about half way home.

Went into the EMS and watched the EGTs as I went to Left Mag and saw #4 cylinder drop dead cold.

AFter landing at home went into the cowl and pulled the lower plug on #4 (left mag harness) and found a lead ball shorting the plug out.

Cleaned out the garbage and ground run was fine SO-

Even though I have always said that a monitor system isn't "necssary" (on 4 cyl engines- big 6s are another animal)

it sure made my job easier to diagnose and fix the issue.

Pics later  :-)

The inflight compass correction really needs to be done to have any accuracy for the calculated winds.  They will always be a bit off due to the 2-4 mph error of our Mooney pitot static system.  Until the correction is done, the calculated winds could have large errors.  You’re gonna love it.

Just completed the inflight compass calibration and inflight horizon adjustment.  Compass got to 101 status!!

Hangar neighbor takes his Cherokee in in a couple weeks for the same panel.  He was impressed with the screen clarity today.

Where are the procedures written for the inflight compass check?  I'm loving my Dynon Skyview, but I need to do this still.

They are in the installation manualbut hard to find IIRRC in the HDX setup area. It calls for

A 360 to the left first then a 360 to the right and for best results do it again with altitude changes

Go into setup pages INFlight push buttons 7 and 8 together and go to the correct line item to select There is a scale number on the page that starts low and will climb to near 100 during the right turn segment. You want as close to100 as possible

There is also a horizon adjustment line for you to reset the command bars closer to the visual horizon if you are showing that off a few degrees in level flight as I was

Steep learning curve but what a nice way to go.  Ive only got 2 hrs behind it and Ihad to leave on a trip so I wont be able to use it for 2 weeks

There are two sets of menus.   One for inflight with an option to get the to full menus.   The inflight compass calibration is on the inflight menu if I remember.   Where did y'all put your Magnatrometer?
