Flap getting stepped on

Over the decades people have stepped on my flap and it has a noticable bend. It does look like the bottom of the flap is designed a bit concave but on the inboard area where its been stepped on there is a crease. Has anyone just tried grabbing it with those massive vicegrips shown in the manual for alieron adjustment and bending it back? I'm sure this is a common problem but I also know in aviation bending alumimun back is often not ideal.

Some flaps got painted with non-skid material...

Jose’s flaps say No Piso on them, both right side up and upside down...   in case there is confusion coming or going...

Creased metal is more of a challenge to un-bend... the crease is an indication of a more permanent strain...

I’m not sure about bending it back, but you might want to look carefully for cracking in the aft spar where the flap torque tubes connect.  Obviously there’s an SB and stiffener that can go there, but stepping on the flaps has to put a lot of stress there.

One way to prevent people stepping on the flap is to leave them down when you have the unfamiliar with you.

I have a no step placard as well, I assume it’s a required placard? If someone stepped on it, they are walking home, or maybe spray Pam on it, it’s called one trial learning. 

I would inspect the aft spar and leave the flap alone, unless your willing to reskin it, likely to find some rib damage too.

I do this all the time, much less likely to catch a foot on it...for those without a step.
