Windlace end

So I’m installing the windlace trim around the door and I’m not sure what to do with the end. There is an aluminum angle that caps the bottom edge so the bottom edge interrupts the windlace. 
 

how am I supposed to deal with this end?  Looks like it should be sewed closed or tucked under that sill somehow.

I cut the windlace so that about 2” tucks under the aluminum corner trim piece and I cut the windlace core inside back so that it ends flush with the trim piece when it’s installed.

goes under the inside edge of the trim place that is held by the 4 #4 screws.   roll the outside back and cut the cordage off so it all fits at the edge of the trim and the material goes under.

I am shopping for windlace to do the same project.  

I see Airtex and Jeager both offer.  Is there a better place to get this?  Yours looks like great quality.  

 

Also, what did you do on the avionics panel side?  Appears there are a few screws behind the avionics that I have no idea how to get to and remove...  Mine is a '78 J, the OP might be a different year.  Anyone else have a trick for that part of the install?
