Houston.  Land of free and home of brave.  Limitless cheap land and and cheap labor.  Unfortunately, home of rigged markets, backdoor deals, and waiting lists for 500-600$ t-hangars. I dunno about you all, but $6,000 a year, I could fix my window leaks, buy a nice cockpit cover, and paint the aircraft every two years with the savings.  Every 4 years new interior.

I hear you George.  One thing is the city charges a ridiculous rate for leases at the airport and then after 30 years it reverts to the city.  I suppose a white floor jet hangar is exempt.

I have my choice here in N.O. $300 - $400 for a community hangar at NEW, $400+ for a T-hangar and $75 on the ramp.  I could go to my closer private airport for $175 on the ramp or $375 in the community hangar.  $100 to $300 a month buys a lot of maintenance.  I would love to have a T-hangar for <$175 a month as would many others.

I work for the US Gov't in Mexico.  Hangars here in Guadalajara are 1200 US per month and tie downs are over100 per month.  Each time I fly, I have to go though a 30-45 minute process of filing a flight plan.  I do it because it is the only way that I can fly my Mooneyduring the two years that I am here.  I have a cockpit cover and park it on the ramp.  Last summer, I parked it at El Paso International for only $110 per month for a T Hangar!  That is a bargain, but I only got to fly about once each 4-6 weeks and a 2 hour commercial flight to get there.
