For the people who already at Oshkosh, what good deals and rebates are you seeing?  I will not be there until Thursday afternoon.

I had e-mailed JPI and asked about show rebates and this was their reply.  Has anyone been by their booth yet?

Please visit JPI Booth to see all rebates. They are a show special and we don’t have a copy of what they have decided yet. We do offer Big rebates this year.

Thanks,

JPI Sales

Historically the oshkosh special is offered even if you don't attend. I bought a JPI monitor a few years back, waited for Oshkosh to begin, called JPI, and got a discount. Actually it was a rebate, so I ordered through an avionics shop that sold for less than JPI MSRP (pacific coast avionics) and got the rebate as well.

I got back home Oshkosh  about 3AM last night.  The comercial flights were horrible and delays were everywhere.  None of my bagage showed up and Delta has no idea when I will get it.  It was good to meet several of the people from Mooneyspace there.

I noticed that numerous vendors had I pad products and their booths seemed to always be busy.  Also the JPI 830 Engine monitors were about $600 off the lowest pre show price that I had saw.

Post bump.. With Oshkosh nearing I am looking at installing a jpi-730 with the future plan to include MP and RPM at a later date. I am unable to attend this year due to family stuff. Emailed JPI asking what their plans were for this year with no response. I am hoping to make the purchase during airventure through AC Spruce, anyone else in a similar boat? Thoughts?

2 years ago if I remembered correctly it had to be purchased at the show.  There was also another advantage to doing that.  The onsite vendors were also offering additional discounts on top of the JPI rebate.  I negotiated with both Gulf Coast and Sarasota Avionics and purchsed the 830 for $2600 after rebate and discount.  Both were a few hundred cheaper than Spruce.  If you plan to add RPM and MP later, it may be cheaper to just buy the 830 to start with.

I just remember seeing discounts in ads online

After the show. And I weighed in buying the 730 vs 830 and to add those options later is actually about 70 dollars cheaper than buying the 830 upfront. I couldn't believe it but true. If anyone hears anything or has any inside info I would really appreciate it ;)

2 years ago the show rebate was $500.  The rebate that they offered after the show was $400 that lasted until the end of the year.  The 830 also gives you OAT, oil temp and oil pressure as a standard features while it is an option on the 730.
