There is nothing like sheep hunting. Well, maybe goat. But it's great. Need to get in condition to do that again. When I did it more than 15 years ago I had to put on 10 pounds for the hunt. I've got that part already covered!

I'm just trying to get retired so I can do more hunting etc. I'm even happy just hunting swamp donkey! Gosh, this one way back in O3.

I’m in Red Deer. So, 1:15 drive north of Calgary. Hour south of Edmonton. Literally have everything I could possibly hunt within a 3 hour drive.... or 45 minute Mooney flight

Do we really need pictures of slaughtered wild life on this forum?  What does this have to do with Mooneys or flying?

The pilots here flew their Mooneys from where they live, well west of you, to where the animals are, then flew the meat home.

I really can't tell in the picture above just what the "swamp donkey" is. They apparently don't live this far South or this far down the mountain . . . .

I've only used an extender in my Mooney one time. But I've had guys and gals beside me that outweigh me, easily 225 or more. I'm just under 200 myself. Trim is your friend!    Took the wife's cousins up the Outer Banks to Kitty Hawk one summer; with the four of us in the plane, I was limited to 34 gal of fuel. Folks in back didn't complain much, flight time wasn't but an hour and a half.

Here's the interesting part. Vince is 6'5" 320 lbs. Jason is 5'11" 226 lbs. Watching these two (no offense to any other Mooniacs on here of this stature) fat bastards get into my F was almost comical. Really wish I had a camera rolling. 

Just got me to thinking, what's the largest person any of you have put in your plane, and do you have any other suggestions to make this easier? Good news is, the three guys I"m taking with me in July are typically mistaken for fenceposts. All under 170, and lanky. My takeaways from my first transport flight experience:

1- Ask for weights of passengers WELL before flying. I ended up draining 22 Gallons of fuel out, into J-Cans on Friday night just to get within limits of UL. 

2- Hand out headsets AFTER passengers have boarded / settled in. Vince managed to sit on my set of Bose QC25 / uFlyMike set in the back seat. Ripped the mic off, and one of the ear cushions. I"ll PIREP the uFlyMike and headset and tell you that they're durable, but a little tedious in getting the foam back into place. 

3- As seen by the photo, I chose to bring "Light beer" for the passengers. You can never be too safe when it comes to weight.  

4- As I've typically done solo flights, and maybe with an instructor/ one passenger, I learned that you need to watch what you say. The Phrases of "oh $hit!", or "F%%K!", were quickly responded by "OMG WHAT???" from partially inexperienced Mooney individuals. In reality, it was me not setting a timer, or plugging in my ipad, and that was my way AHA! moment, and my response. (Note: In Jason's defense, he did survive a float plane flipping over on its' wings last fall, while on a sheep hunt in Northern BC, so I have to understand a slight bit of "long tail cat in a rocking chair store" mentality).

FYI, not sure how you are calculating your weight and balance, but I was constantly running into being to nose heavy in my ‘65C even though I am 6’5” and 180#. I even bought a 50# bag of sand to put in the baggage compartment to help.

I use FltPln Go and discovered that the arm it uses for the front seats defaults to 36.5”. I found that most (if not all) of my front seat passengers and I have the seat 1 or 2 holes from the rearmost setting. So, I changed my default arm to a more “real world” 41.5” and viola, no more problems! I can go full fuel, put myself and a 275# passenger up front and a 150# passenger in the back and be within the envelope.

Actually ,I’ve never seen even one of Chris big xl ladies in a Mooney...so it obviously is not possible to shoehorn one in.
