I have a 2007 Ovation 3 and since ownership, have performed oil changes every 25 hours.  Some say, that is best, others say that since my engine has an oil filter, I can go 50 hours between changes.   Any comments?

Lycoming recommends 50 hours or 4 months, whichever comes first, for engines with a filter; I believe Continental is the same.  Do your oil analysis results indicate a need to change more frequently?

I change every 25 hours or so.  In my old barron, where you could see the engine more easily I went longer.  I like shorter period just because you can see the engine.

I change my oil every 25-30 hours which works out to about every two months. This includes cutting the filter and checking the suction screen as well, per a Mike Busch article I read. The first time around with the screen was a PITB but now that I have done it a few times it's not so bad. All in all from start to finish the oil change takes about 2 hours of working time. The New Pig funnel works wonders for keeping the mess down on all three applications.

every 50 hours per the manufacturers recommendations. Our LOP oil analysis is cleaner at 55 hours than the average 32 hour sample, and we also did an acid test to be sure.  It was fine.

The old engines without a filter, just a screen were 25 hours.  Mostly because carbon bits started circulating.

every 50 hours, with filter opening and UOA.

I was wondering if some one could describe how to access the oil screen. It is a pain in the a.. to reach and have refrained from opening it so far.

OR75- I'm not sure what plane you have and if the setup is the same as my 77J but the best way to do it is just to take your time. It's not that hard to remove and replace but the real challenge comes in safety wiring it back. It's a pain but I think it's also important to check frequently since it will show any large pieces of metal that won't make it to the spin on filter. Once you get the hang of it, it's only a 15-20 minute ordeal that you can do while the oil is draining. Good luck!
