moodychief Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 Finally heading to Wilmar on Monday to drop my M20C off to get the fuel tanks resealed!!! (woo-hoo!) I'm looking forward to the 644 nm trip! My wife made a comment the other night that if this didn't get rid of the fuel smell I better start looking for another airplane. Things that make you go...hmmmmmmm! Quote

moodychief Posted May 28, 2011 Author Report Posted May 28, 2011 She has already laid out the specs that it can't fly any slower than what we have and cost no more to fly or maintain. That leads me to believe she wants me to get a bigger and faster Mooney. Quote

Cruiser Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 Willmar has an great reputation for quality work especially fuel tank repair........ the smell will be gone. you will need to keep the fuel sump samples when doing your preflight and place them in the baggage compartment to maintain that fuel smell in the cockpit for your wife. You need to start looking now at the online sites for Mooneys for sale and show your wife a potential good upgrade every other day or so.. actually Willmar offers a very nice pre-buy program and they might be able to arrange a purchase for you while your current plane is being fixed. Good luck! Quote

The-sky-captain Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 Quote: moodychief I am based at KSUZ just south of Little Rock, AR. Moodychief- I'm in and out of KSUZ several times a month for business. Any time you see PX on the ramp come on over and say hi. BTW my planes tanks were sealed about 5 years ago and I've had no problems what so ever. Good luck! Quote
