It looks like the manifold pressure gauge goes to 70.  Is that normal for an A or B?

No.  Maybe it came out of a plane with a super duper turbo.

I immediately thought that too! My plane originally came with visors, but they're long gone.  I wonder if that's what they looked like

Just caught that!  The bases of those peaks must be around -2500msl.
