Maybe if they drop the "1" in front. Why would anyone upgrade a 330 when you can buy a new GTX-345 for ~$6,500 installed?

Definitely a typo on the GTX 330ES or a fraud.  The other costs are about right.  My understanding is that it is about $1,500 to upgrade the GTX 330 to the GTX 330ES.

Because if you already have a 330 it should be around 2,200 installed to get it to a 330ES. So $4,300 is a pretty good reason...

I was referring to the $12,000 upgrade cost. Why would you upgrade a 330 to ES for $12,000 when you can install the 345 for ~$6,500?

Haha I thought so, that has to be a typo. Either that or they must think the OP is really gullible.

He wants $1900 for the install, plus $850 to "remove interior" as required, plus 10% of the total cost for shop supplies.  So assuming he meant $1200 for the upgrade,  id be looking at somewhere around $4200.  Personally I think that's way out of line from what I've seen

R&Ring the interior on the pilots side  takes about 1-2 hrs total.  I wish I could get paid $400/hr to remove 45 screws :-). Seats take about 10-15 minutes.

Thats a bunch of BS, find another shop. He doesn't need to remove the interior for the 330ES install. For that its a matter of adding two wires to your WAAS source. We used to charge 4 hrs of labor plus the cost of the upgrade from Garmin for a 330 to 330ES conversion. Including the 330ES, FS 210, and cig lighter/USB you should be looking somewhere around 12hrs total labor.

You planning on doing all your flying in China in 2020?

HAHHAHHAHHHA!  He quoted 53 hours of labor.

22 for the transponder. 10 hours to remove interior.  10 hours for the USB. 5 hours for the Flightstream 210. 6 hours for the cigarette lighter.

I think maybe I should look around for a different avionics guy.....

When I had my 327 upgraded to the 330es it took one guy a solid day with another person helping out on and off. I was at the shop and the installer was working hard and stayed after ~ an hour to finish the job.

If such a thing were to appear in an airplane, what breaker would you wire it to, assuming the original was removed and the breaker was used for the autopilot?

in a 75 F model it is on the 10 amp breaker that shares the load with the ignition switch.  A Greely hole punch is the fancy way to make a hole in the panel

A metal holesaw is the white trash way of making the hole both involve drilling the greely will make less mess and won't risk messing up the panel finish

Have to say I'd run like the wind if an avionics shop quoted $55 (30 mins labor and a $5 car part).

It is possible on a ramp check to get dinged for not having a cigarette lighter.since it was part of the original standard equipment

On a C model with the access panels up front, it should take no more than 6 hours to swap a new transponder in. In the OPS case he already has a 330 so there is no tray/rewiring to do. Just 2 wires added to the GPS source. Not sure if the OP has the 201 windshield or not which limits access, an Ovation on the other hand would take a bit longer...
