I had planned on flying into Oshkosh that year with the group, but circumstances worked against me.  Watertown is less than an hour (in Rocket time) from Iron Mountain, MI.  I flew down the day before the formation flight and helped with the registration.  Thinking why not sleep in my own bed that night and fly back down the next day, I returned to IMT after the registration was complete.  Got up the next Am and thunderstorms were between IMT and Watertown, so ended up driving down for the launch.  At least I could help by loading a bunch of stuff in my truck and taking it to Oshkosh for those with payload concerns.

I am standing behind the photo plane, right at the front edge of the tail (with less body weight and much less gray hair).  My bird is the last Mooney back on the left row of Mooney's (blue and white).  Needless to say, the photo was taken the day BEFORE the caravan to Oshkosh.  The guy on the wing I am pretty sure was Jody Voss (?) from the factory.

No, but I notice my plane to be was there (N3762N)

OK, we're in suspense.  Did you own it then or you bought it since 2002?  Did you know it attended this event?

I bought it in March 2013, wanted it an economical and fast plane and couldn't be happier, big difference from the c-150 I had flown for 11 years. No I didn't know till I saw the picture you posted. Thank you for posting the picture, now lives in one of my albums.

Is that @Hank on the front row next to the sign?

That's my doppelganger, right down to the hat. But I wear transition lenses, and have yet to reach Osh . . . . .
